I really want to give them higher marks as this GORGEOUS (large) facility has enormous potential, a top-ranked chef and a fabulous sounding menu. Service was good, but dish execution had too many things wrong to be ignored. My Kir Royale was made with flat prosecco - I clearly got the last of an opened bottle, but that is even forgivable if the meal was good. My husband's dish was excellent - if a bit over-sauced (tender, home-made Cavatelli in s rosa/blush sauce). I would discover first hand how heavy they pour the olive oil. I ordered the burrata of the day (m.p. was $17 - OUCH - but OK.) but that was NOT what was brought to me. Instead i got a "doctored up" caprese - and I am a HUGE fan of caprese so I agreed to accept the (beautiful) plate and began to eat it. Drowned in Olive oil, and the Plum tomato (served quarted) tasted fermented. It was not visibly rotten - but it really, truly was. I am happy to say they took the salad ($14) off the bill. Please ease up on the sauce and oil! Next time - and yes, there WILL be a next time - but not right away - I am getting a pasta (folks one table over had the pan-grilled chicken parm and another table ordered rigatoni with one enormous meatball) - they looked amazing. This is really a 4 star place - and has potential to be a 5 star place - but we are off to a rocky start with 'Teca. Oh - and the $8 Tira Misu in a mason jar is light as air and delectable. Prices are far too high for this neck of the woods - but they have ALOT of overhead to pay for including party rooms and glorious pizza oven-bar that seats 16 and a HUGE cocktail bar, wine cellar and much more. And they are STILL building. WOW. I am hoping they will make improvements and hit their stride soon. We had a far better meal at the "original" West Chester "Teca in 2013. See you in 5-7 months! (Can't afford sooner.) This is a great special-occiasion or date (not neccessarily a first date) place.

Attended a bridal shower at Teca on Sunday. The room was nice and new, if a little bare. I liked that the bar was on the far end end of the space. The upstairs was beautifully done though. I'd read unfavorable reviews of the previous restaurants that had been located there, but I was pleasantly surprised by the food. The bruschetta that servers circulated was delicious. The servers also circulated pizza, which guests said was also good, but very difficult to eat while holding drinks and mingling. I don't think that's the best choice for circulating appetizers during a cocktail type hour. The fruit and cheese plate was nice. The roasted rosemary chicken was delicious, and everybody was raving about that. The Caesar salad was overdressed, and I skipped the gnocchi, though people said it was good. The servers were all really friendly and accommodating, with the exception of the hostess upstairs, who was pretty disinterested in helping anyone out, until a manager walked past the front area. I'd be interested in returning for dinner, and not just an event!

We are not a big fan of Italian food, but I tell you this place is as good and as close you will get to real Italian as possible. We have been here several times and besides the oysters I have not come across anything I did not love. Everything is so delicious, and so European. The beer selection is great (several European good lager kinds to chose from) the ambiance is awsome, I cannot believe I am loving Italian so much just really good good food. We tried the burger, the pork chop, the pizza, the tuna tartar. And we keep on ordering again and again the Italian Rum cake, so moist, one of the best if not the best cake in the 50 miles radium that I have tried.

This restaurant was known as Alberto's at one point in time. Even back then when this was formerly known as Alberto's they still have that same reputation of spotty service with sub par Italian cuisine. Now we come up to speed with Teca , a new fresh look , supposedly better dishes with a brick oven style pizza being served. So with that being said let's see what's different, or better yet, we'll say the "improvements" are to this location , Teca's went through a lot of changes , a face lift with a new style of pizza bar to their actual bar. They added a section where it did improve in space , adding more seats so you wouldn't feel as crowded like in the past. Mind you I came here when it was Alberto's back in the day, where they really didn't have any kind of competition. A beautiful wine room can be seen as you enter showing off what they have in selections, so if you're a wine aficionado you'll be happy to know you're going to be satisfied. Try their house wine they make, its similar to a Sangiovese, which was the perfect compliment to my meal. Sangiovese is a red wine that pretty much is in the same family of a Chianti that will make any meal a perfect meal. See I am not only a fine craft type of guy, I also enjoy a great bottle or glass of wine. Their bar or 2 bars (which I'll mention in a minute) has improved, not so much in the craft scene , but their liquors seem satisfactory. Remember how I mentioned 2 bars, and if we were to jump up to the second paragraph I said "Pizza Bar" This is a huge improvement from prior, a beautiful pizza bar where you can watch them make the pizza as you enjoy your food. Service was a little sketchy, but not like before where you had a better shot of flagging someone down on the street before you'd see a waiter or waitress. I will say this Teca was busy, pretty much a full house , where they did try their best to try to accommodate. I will not fault them on this, they did hustle, now prior to Teca, if this was Alberto's I'd say good luck. Teca makes their own bread that comes out hot and fresh. The problem with their homemade bread is that it needed to be baked a little longer. Soft and mushy where the dough needed to be baked more. Nothing like chewing on a wad of semi baked dough to stretch out your jaw muscles. The crust , that nice hard crust was decent with a nice flavorful dipping oil, but again that dough killed the whole thing. Food option have changed to an improved menu, some more added options for you to peruse. I went with their Bistecca which was a 28 day dry aged NY.Strip. A great cut, nice and thick while having it prepped Pittsburgh style is the perfect way to enjoy any cut of meat. The carnivore in you would also greatly appreciate this with it being dressed with charred peppers and cipolline onions over top. A blanket of flavors hitting you mixed with a light touch of garlic and olive oil over top. I will say I did enjoy this, it did miss a few things. A side of vegetables would have been nice instead of ordering it and paying more, but other than that it was ok. A few things here and there needs to be improved in my opinion, but other than that this was an enjoyable meal. I do want to give their pizza a try, most likely if I'm in the area I'd probably stop back at their bar and give it a go.

This place was wonderful! We had my sister's bridal shower in the lower room of the restaurant and everything turned out perfect. The staff was very accommodating with adjusting the room exactly how we wanted, and everyone was courteous when asking for drink refills and clearing our tables. The food was buffet style and delicious, people went up for seconds! I definitely recommend Teca for anyone's special occasion.

I came here last week with my boyfriend jeffrey, and to preface let me just say that our standards (jeff and I) when it comes to food aren't super high. I also want to emphasize that italian food is my favorite food and jeff's as well. When I say this garbage they call food is overpriced, i should get the understatement of the year award. the chicken tastes like rubber, the fish tastes like cardboard, and the pasta tasted like my cat's litterbox. I tried to complain but a man named roberto was brought over. He smelled heavily of cheap cologne cigarettes and vodka. He had a hickey on his neck and a thick accent. He said "what is problem" i said "food is overcooked" he immediately told me and my boyfriend to leave and called us both "daisy pickers" i've never felt such a hostile energy from a man in my life besides maybe when jeffey darling misses his thursday night programs

My wife and I attended the first weekend after opening...it was busy and clearly they're were many wrinkles to iron out. Servers were polite, but it seemed like our main server had a training server with him, which was awkward because our main server didn't seem to have it perfected yet. The hostess was also polite, but I felt her outfit was a bit to provacative for a younger lady (maybe I'm old school??). The managers were swarming all over the place looking disheveled, and frustrated...which I can understand being a new place, but if you're opening a higher priced restaurant, you should be hiring higher priced managers for fluency. And, I'm into style...so all managers should be wearing the same thing. Not one with a sweater, and the other with a baggy loose fitting suit. Dress the role for success. Scenery looked great. Decor looked great. Setup was great. Food...overall, was good (not great). Tuna Tartar was good. Salmon entree was good. I had the lasagna...not so good. Arrived in a pan, loaded with cream sauce and soggy noodles. Not what I expected. Lastly, I do not like the branding. The name TECA was on every plate and on the wine glasses...really?? Overall, it was pricey for mediocre food and service. I'll go back once more hoping for a better experience that all wrinkles are ironed out. I'll update a new review as well.

First time here- the site has been several restaurants including Alberto's and Newtown grill.. Well, this is the best it's ever been! I had the lamb shanks and side of escarole w beans- I'm usually a fish and salad person, but splurged ! Worth it! Falling off bones delicious - Wonderful ambiance - terrific wine cellar - a fantastic experience particularly for locals not wanting to venture too far in bad weather! Oh, and I forgot my purse and they ran out with it as I was heading to car!! My new favorite place! Ask for Mumta! Best waitress ever!

This place is a joke... All for show. Hostess was legitimately angry that she had to seat us. Pretty sure that's the extent of her job though... She basically sprinted to the table- to the point we weren't sure where she was. She put the menus down and walked away... No "enjoy" or "your server will be right with you." It wasn't busy. You're a hostess. Let's not get too excited. Smiling may help. Your job shouldn't be too stressful. You write names and walk. The waitress was in constant "up-sell" mode. My wife ordered wine by the glass, and the waitress said, "I'll pick out a medium-priced one for you." Not a huge deal, but we were now evaluating all social aspects of this place, and looked at the pricing to see what she would pick... She picked the most expensive, which was not shocking since her main objective was clear- get the check as high as possible. We ordered salads, and she said, "and what are you having for appetizers?" When we didn't want apps, she acted like she was shocked. Shouldn't be that strange of a concept... She also looked disgusted with us when we didn't order dessert. The check couldn't have come faster after declining dessert. She then basically waited about two feet away while I signed the check. The greediness was a turn-off. Just be pleasant, and I'll happily over tip you. Food was good, which is the only reason I gave this two stars instead of one... Overpriced, but good. As a nice topper, we were leaving and a 60 year-old lady was puking out of her car right in front of the entrance where the valet is... It may be the most unnecessary valet. Ever. Plenty of parking... and we walked further from the delightful hostess's stand to our seats than we did from our car to the entrance.

A few of my friends and I ate here last Monday after a round of golf. We sat at the bar and ordered a couple pizzas and the angolotti. The food was out of this world crazy good!! We had the margherita and the chicken pizza with pine nuts and pesto definitely great picks! I recommend any if the pizzas and pastas you can't go wrong. After racing some of these other reviews, you people must not know made from scratch Italian food ! Especially the "daisy pickers" if you knew how much time and ingredients cost in the restaurant biz, you might understand why the items are priced the way the are! I would have given 5 stars but the bartenders seemed to be in between shifts and were more focused on leaving or starting the shift rather than getting me a cold one !!

Once again! Back and never disappoints. Our sever Robert was very knowledgeable on the menu as well as pairing wines to our meal. We enjoyed the night and couldn't have asked for a better experience. My mother enjoyed the chicken Parmesan as it seemed to engulf the plate while I enjoyed the Bronzino, that was filleted spectacularly. Have lacked in going as frequently but will be a hot spot once the summer comes to a close. Also, they are building a deck. What a nice addition that will definitely bring my friends and I!

Sometimes I wonder if social media actually hurts us from making great restaurant choices! I am not a huge yelp reviewer but I am an avid Yelp reader. I have not visited countless restaurants because their reviews were just okay or ranged from great to awful. Well thank GOD my friend convinced me to give Teca a chance. All I wanted to do was eat outside (NOT on the side of a busy street) and Teca seemed like the obvious choice. They have this secret side stone patio with huge umbrellas:) The place was pretty busy, for a weeknight in the suburbs (which I saw as a good sign). I had a beer at the bar as I waited for my friend - I think happy hour had just ended so I think I took the last seat! The bar was huge though and there was a team of bartenders so my wait was not long. When she showed up we went out to the patio and immediately ordered cured olives, cherry peppers and charcuterie so we could really study the menu without being starving. The food came out beautifully displayed and I could see the people next to us getting green with envy. I quickly ordered a pasta course for us to share (spaghetti with angry crab gravy) almost solely for the name. I don't do dairy so my server took an opportunity to check with the chef and make sure that everything I ordered would be fine. If I could eat this every day for eternity - I would. Huge lumps of crab and a sauce with so many dimensions - I actually sent pictures to my sister to taunt her. Jess ordered the salmon (herb crusted with almost like an israeli cous cous). I got the branzino - filleted table side. It was actually the most delicious fish I have had in years - and I got no bones (I always get a bone!) She tried to save half of her salmon for lunch the next day but she said it was so good that she forgot. (She also "forgot" to let me try it). All in all - our trip to Teca was great - the food was unbelievable, the restaurant was beautiful, the service was on point and the secret garden was perfect. Heading down the shore for a week, but then we will be back!

Went with a couple girlfriends after work to enjoy a glass of wine and some appetizers. We ordered the cheese plate, a flat bread and the friend calamari. We also drank the house wine. Portions were very smaller especially on the cheese plate and calamari and the price was not small. Overall the guests and the servers are a little pretentious and made us feel pretty uncomfortable, the food was really only OK and the food and drinks were definitely overpriced for being located in Newtown Square.

Went to brunch for Mother's Day with the family. Upon entering, there was a long line of people in the lobby. Not sure why, but had to try and get around them to check in with hostess. Waited 10-15 for our reservation. As we were being taken to our table, we realized the long line through the lobby was for the brunch! There wasn't really enough room between the brunch tables where the food was, the lines of people trying to get to the food, and the counter with deserts and pastries for us to walk. If someone was coming the other direction, forget it. Definitely not laid out well. Not sure if this was special for Mother's Day, or just really busy for Mother's Day or what. The food was great though! Didn't have one bad thing on the plate and everyone in our party agreed. Service was, well - about as poor as can be. Out waitress was very nice, but you could tell they were understaffed for the occasion. Not her fault at all. But there were several tables nearby (With other servers) that were flagging people down and asking if they had a server, or if they could get drinks, etc. Dirty plates were not cleared and getting drinks wasn't happening. Our server knew this and even covered a few drinks on the bill. Also disappointed that something as simple as orange juice wasn't included with the brunch. Really? For the same price, we usually go to the Radnor Hotel where even the mimosas are included! Funniest part for us was when my sister pulled up in a manual car. Valet had to chase her down as no one can drive stick, so they needed her to park it. Teca, if you want to last in Newtown Square, you're going to need to step it up. This is the fourth name change/restaurant in this location in maybe ten years. Hoping this was just a Mother's Day flaw, but if this is the normal brunch, be prepared. . .

Had a very nice experience here on 5/9/215. My wife and I had reservations for 7 and we were seated promptly when we arrived. Hostess was pleasant and nice. Our server Sally was very good, courteous and professional. We enjoyed our meal. My wife had the filet and I had the pork. Both were good and served without issue. We did wait a little while for our desserts but nothing too extreme. We would definitely come back again for a visit. I have read some of the other reviews that described bad service but we really had a good night.

very good job at making the interior a lot nicer than before. We found everyone pleasant and not rushed at all. The menu is not the same as the one in West Chester, and frankly like the West Chester selection better. The Teca burger was very juicy and came with very good fries. The mussels were a nice sized order and had a spicy sauce over them. The froed olives were not on the menu, but the waiter said the chef would make them. Seems odd that such a big seller isn't on the menu. They have valet parking afternoon and nights, which i don't think is necessary. I would go back, but still prefer the other location.

I wish I could give "0" stars. I have been meeting a group of friends for dinner once a month for thirty years, that is 360 dinners. We have tried many, many resturants and never have we left an establishment without eating UNTIL TONIGHT. We had hear that Teca had open under new (old) management and decided to give it a try. We had a reservation and was promptly seated. The Resturant was about one quarter fill. So not very busy. We received water in out glasses and menus. And that is where the service stopped. The wine list is extensive but not a lot of medium priced bottles. If one wanted to spend several hundred dollars for a bottle of wine, I doubt one would be in this establishment. It didn't matter, because no one came to ask us what we wanted. After 30 minutes, We stopped a well dressed gentleman passing by and asked if we might place an order for wine. He looked down his nose at us and his response was,"what color would you like?" We placed orders for four glasses of wine and 16 minutes later, we just gave up and left. Our evening was ruined. My only consolation is the knowledge that this place will not be in business for another 6-9 months. With the reviews I've read, and the distinction of being the worst dining experience I've had in 30 years, they can not last long. Pity. The ambience is beautiful. But a Resturant has to actually serve people to make it in the business.

I hosted a bridal shower at Teca in their beautiful banquet room. I can't say enough about the atmosphere in the room, the decor or the staff. It was a pleasure to deal with Roberto and the staff from start to finish it was nothing but positive. They made sure we had everything we wanted and more. The appetizers were delicious, and the entrees were even better. I would defintiely recommend this restaurant to everyone. I couldn't have been happier and better yet the bride was overwhelmed, it exceeded all our expectations. From the planning to the end result was fantastic. Can't wait to return to have dinner. By the way, the gnocchis were delicious, salmon great, and everyone raved over the chicken parm. Thank you Teca for such a wonderful experience. Andrea Anderson

Terrible food, terrible service and terrible restaurant. Steer away from this restaurant, not worth a penny of your time. You can tell that management is awful and the kitchen cannot keep up with orders. The staff are all running around like their head had been chopped off. Unorganized and just chaotic. It ruins your entire dining experience. Food was well below average. I left extremely unimpressed and disappointed.

I hosted a luncheon today at Teca for a women's organization that holds monthly meetings at different restaurants in the Delaware Valley area. Thirty one of us ate a spectacular meal in the restaurant's wine cellar which by itself was a work of art. Special thanks to our waiters, Eveline and Jason, who were experts in making sure we had a memorable experience! Elaine C.

I was so excited for this place to open - I live close by. But I was thoroughly disappointed. Highlights of why I was disappointed: - When our appetizers came out, we still had yet to get water, let alone the drink order we put in as soon as we sat down. We had to ask for water and bread. And then the bread was put down but with no butter or oil. - This may sound stupid, but if you order calamari at an italian restaurant it's a good litmus test as to how authentic they are and how fresh their food is. We were thoroughly disappointed with the fact that it was clearly flash fried frozen calamari. No tentacles - just rubbery rounds. - We ordered a pizza after our appetizers and it came out a max 2 mins later. Fast service would normally be something I'd praise, but in this case it was very apparent that their so-called artisan pizza's are simply a plain pizza that they throw the toppings on and heat really quickly. While the prosciutto, arugula, and parmesan pizza sounded great, it was a pretty big disappointment in reality. - Caesar salad was pretty flavorless and seemed to just be store bought dressing over some romaine. The croutons were clearly the same ones you buy in the grocery store. I talked to 2 other people who had recently eaten there and had the same experience. The only reason I'm not giving it 1 star is because it's new and I'm really really crossing my fingers hoping it gets better. For $120 it was no better than your average chain italian restaurant. The wait staff, hostess, manager, etc - were all very nice. So this bad review is in no way reflective of them. Just felt pretty sub par all the way around in terms of the food.

Read reviews on Yelp and was worried. Could not have been more wrong. Very happy with food. There are a lot of italian places on mainline. Teca stands out. Really innovative food. Had the Frita Mista to start and the short rib - both Awesome. Wine choices were great - lives up to its name of a wine bar with a great selection . Sons had steaks which were done perfect. Wife had Branzino - also great. They completely updated decor and have - with good use of space. (Bar, Tables, Pizza Bar...) All in all a GREAT addition to the Main Line restaurant lineup.

My husband and I attended a birthday party on December 6, 2014 at this restaurant. The restaurant opened a few weeks prior to this event. We arrived at about 4:30 p.m. in the afternoon. At that time, not too many people were in the restaurant's various rooms. Let me tell you, by the time we were done with the dinner party (about 8:00 p.m.) the place was hopping. There were about 60 people in our party. With that many people, the service was exceptional. There were appetizers on each table and also appetizers were circulated by the servers. Their pizza slices were very tasty, light and easy to pick up. Their mushrooms staffed with something that I don't remember were very tasty. Dinner was also prepared and served in a timely fashion. I had the fish which had a light white sauce. It was perfectly cooked. My husband had the filet mignon which was also cooked perfectly. For a place that had just opened, to serve a large party and to also accommodate their other guests in the restaurant and their bar, i was very impressed with the food and the service. Now their decor I would also give them 5 stars. The restaurant is large but the rooms are divided in such a way that it feels cozy. The colors blend beatifull and compliment each room. The pizza oven near the bar adds an interesting ambience to the restaurant. The service was exceptional from the time you arrive at the parking lot, the attendance were friendly and courteous. The waiters were also very attentive and timely. The whole experience was very pleasant and both my husband and I would definitely go back to experience the restaurant dining.

I had a great dinner tonight at Teca! Delish food and warm, friendly service. We started at the bar, and had a great hand-crafted cocktail. Then we were taken to our table, in a gorgeously decorated dining room, with rich reds and dark woods. Our server was very attentive. We ordered the special salad and each chose a pasta dish. The food was perfectly prepared and the waitstaff was very gracious. We had a wonderful evening and will definitely be back.

Went on Friday Feb 20, 2015 and wasn't sure what to expect with all the positive and negative ratings here on Yelp. Used to enjoy the old Newtown Grille. Well, this was a definite positive for us. The Margherita pizza was phenomenal. The Norwegian salmon was excellent...it was not the standard farm raised salmon that is fed to be bright orange, but was rather more pink in color, to me indicating that it was more naturally sourced. Nice flavor too but maybe cooked a minute too long, but still very good. Wedge salad and butternut squash soup did not disappoint either. Nice wine list with a few from an estate in Tuscany which they have access to, which was very good. Chimay ale on tap was a nice find as well as a wide variety of other nice beers. No complaints on the service, our server was very attentive and helpful. Other staff were pleasant and the person who appeared to be management was congenial and thanked us as we left. So maybe the staff relations have improved from the other reviewers bad experiences...not a single complaint here on the staff. The facility is much upgraded from the prior Grille. We sat at the counter by the pizza oven (which was firing at 700 degrees). This bar/pizza side of the restaurant is primarily all hard surfaces so the noise level, especially since we were there around happy hour, can get up there. If you want more intimacy then go to one of the other rooms which are softer. Enjoy! Will be going back.

Went to Teca the weekend after christmas for a private party in the downstairs wine cellar room. The place was very nicely updated from the old restaurant that used to occupy the space. The service and wait staff was friendly and very accommodating. Food was great as well. There was a long wait upstairs at the bar to get a drink but overall it was a very good experience. From the other reviews it sounds like they have some issues to fix but I would definitely go here again based off my first experience.

5 of us went there on New years Eve. Our experience pretty much mirrored what has been written here. Uneven food, service and high price. The décor is fitting and the layout with a large bar and separate dining areas was good. We used the free valet and checked in our coats - more on that later. The waiter provided good service throughout the meal, even though he (as noted in other reviews) pushed the sides for dishes that included sides stating that all entrees were a la carte. After checking with the menu, he corrected himself - everything was not a la carte. We started with two pizzas - both around $19, They looked to be 12" and both were placed on our table about 5 minutes after ordering. If they were a steak, I would say that they were very rare. The crust tasted of corn meal and was barely cooked - if that. Others both in the restaurant and on yelp have had the same experience. After the pizza, everybody ordered an appetizer. A couple Italian wedge salads - pricey but good, a lobster bisque which was pricey and overly salty and an order of mussels split among two people which was fantastic and a must order if you go to this establishment. Among the mains ordered were the veal piccata which was smallish in size and bland, a braised short rib dish which was okay and branzino which while large in size was cooked way too long and was dried out to the point of being cardboard-like. Including two bottles of wine, the cost per person was over $60. Not sure if the prices were increased because of the Holiday but much better meals can be had in local Italian restaurants for $40 to 50 per person on non-holiday evenings. As we left, we stopped at the coat check room to retrieve out coats - and they couldn't find them. The room was manned by Teca staff who gave us a claim ticket when we checked in our coats. After about 10 minutes, they let us into the room to find our coats, which we did with no issue. My overall rating is three stars - but really would like to give them an incomplete. It was New Years Eve and I don't expect my experience to be necessarily indicative of what one might find at other times. They opened only a couple of weeks before we went and look like they are still fixing some normal opening issues at this point in time. I will go back for lunch in a couple of weeks and see where things stand. While it seems as though they have some potential to make a go of it, between the high price and uneven food quality, they face stiff competition in an area with many other Italian restaurants who hit the mark in terms of price and quality..

Went to dinner with my mom last night thinking we would try this place because it is new. The place was so loud it was hard to hear yourself talk. The server (think his name was AJ or RJ??) I ordered wine and he delivered it to my table in a glass covered with womans lipstick all around the edges.I immediately gave it back to him and ordered a coke which took over 10 more minutes for him to get.At this point i was ready to go.We were there 40 minutes and he still did not take our order.Once we finally received our food it was mediocre at best. Caesar salad i could have made better at my house, pasta was ok. IThere was no salt and pepper on the tables and i had to ask another server for grated cheese. I was not about to sit there 20 more minutes waiting for our server while my meal gets cold.We never received any bread which we both were looking forward to.Everyone likes bread with an Italian meal.We did not realize they served bread until we were leaving and realized all the other tables had some.Service is horrible. This restaurant is by no means upscale. It is equivalent to an Olive garden with some fancy tile. They need to train their staff and get better management in there if this place wants a chace to make it.We always go to Spasso in Media where they actually make the food from scratch but they did not have power last night.

Horrible. Complete horrible. Food was cold. Served stuff we were allergic too and owner wouldn't take it back and got in our face saying it's really good. Will he pay the hospital bill? Ugh disgusted.

What a disappointment!!! Tried it a few different times since it has been open and Everytime I was disappointed. The food has no flavor what so ever and the staff is terrible. I won't be going back.

Just returned home from a very expensive, horrible meal. I would not recommend it to anyone. From the overpriced salads, to the unappetizing entrees, it was very disappointing. The Caesar salad dressing was bland, and the croutons were hard as rocks. The fusilli pasta was overcooked and the sauce was pasty. The seafood risotto was undercooked. My dish should have been an appetizer, not a main dish. At the end of the meal, and there was a lot left on our plates, the server asked it we enjoyed the meal... we were honest. She sent the manager over, and his response to our concerns was unacceptable. If you are the manage of a new up restaurant, you will hear the concerns and attempt to satisfy the customers. Usually that comes with an offer of dessert, a cocktail, remove from the bill the meal that was unsatisfactory. His response to us was, "Give us another chance, it's New Year's Eve." I requested to see him again, to ask him to take the meal off the menu, and he never came over. The server was nice enough to remove it. Unfortunately for Teca, we will not go back or recommend it to any of our friends.

I went to Teca few months ago when they first opened and was not impressed But tonight they blow me away!!! First the hostess knew that I came few month ago and was not impressed!!! They had it in their computer!! The manager introduced himself and was honestly interested in our opinion and feedback We had the burata and prosciutto special, the best I ever had, then the pizza and steak were just perfect! The owner has vineyards in Italy so we tasted his wine, what a special evening!! Beautiful place, great energy, great food This place is here to stay.

Visited when it first opened. It was just ok. Server was awkward, and food wasn't out of this world. Good, but not great. Took us a bit long to get our car out of valet, when i could have just walked and got it.

I've seen a lot of so-so reviews about this place, but honestly, it's the best restaurant in the area. The service was friendly and prompt, and the drinks at the bar were reasonably priced. One of the owners has a vineyard in Tuscany, and many of the wines are imported directly from the vineyard to the restaurant. The food was amazing. We sat at the pizza bar and ordered a Neapolitan pizza with slow-cooked chicken, basil, and pine nuts. It was expertly hand-crafted by an insanely attractive sous chef, who engaged us with pleasant conversation while we enjoyed the atmosphere. I ordered a cod special for my entree, which was perfectly cooked. My friend ordered the bucantini with clams and chorizo. She said she was coming back for it. We had a great night and will be back soon.

Service a 2!!! We were rushed.... Not just rushed----pushy!!! Food a 4.5!!! Phenomenal! We told the waitress we wanted to enjoy our cocktails and appetizers before we ordered our entrees. We were denied! Same thing happened with dessert and coffee! She would not allow us to order appetizers without an entree order at the same time. Our food came out almost simultaneously! However, the food was phenomenal! Because the food was so perfect, we will be returning for another visit. I do hope the service will be improved upon on our next visit or I will not be returning for a third.

They really did a nice job with the decor . We liked the bar and on a Friday night there was actually dancing. But it was loud in the dining area adjacent to the bar as you might expect. The food was not bad but not great either. I must say its better at the Tecca's in West Chester. Worth a visit. Give them a chance to work out the kinks.

I live very close to Teca and went in with high expectations. There have been a lot of restaurants moving in and out of this location but Teca is definitely here to stay. The atmosphere is great with a open bar with a pizza oven and a separated dining area. The staff was professional and polite as well as the greeters and valet. For food, we ordered the grilled calamari and the salmon. The salmon was good but the grilled calamari stole the show. The only reason Teca is not receiving 5 stars is because the food was tasty but not out of this world. I would definitely recommend it to others despite this fact.

I went to Teca with my wife on sat night. We had 7:45 reservations. We arrived at 7:15 and wanted to have a drink at the bar. We checked in with the hostess and we were told check back with her @ 7:45. That was a bit of a pain since we had to keep track of the time. We returned to the hostess @ 7:45 an were told the had 2 tables a high top table in a quiet area or a low top in a louder area. We asked for the low top. The low top was in the bar area not in one of the smaller more quiet rooms. My wife and I started off with the Italian wedge of salad and I had the escarole & bean soup. The soup was hot and tasty. My wife enjoyed the salad. She said it tasted like a BLT. she enjoyed the salad. I had the 14 oz Delmonico steak and my wife had the veal piccata. She said it was her second favorite veal piccata. It was lightly breaded with flour and in a lemon butter sauce. My Delmonico steak was delicious. There is no salt or pepper on the table and there is no need for it. The steak was perfectly seasoned. I asked for it medium rare and it was more medium than rare but well seasoned. For dessert I had the Italian rum cake. It was the perfect ending to a great dinner.

Teca was a pleasant experience for us (party of 4) even though some of the reviews are negative. The interior has been nicely rehabbed, bathrooms are spotless, and the food and service was good. We plan to return in the near future.

Went here last night with two girlfriends. We had a 6pm reservation. Each of us ordered one of their brick oven pizzas, which were very good. Special shout out for the Tartufo pizza. Our waiter was fine; no issues with him. If the food was good, why only 3 stars? I have two problems with this place; mandatory valet parking is one of them. This is a personal pet peeve; why can't I have the option to park my own dang car and walk if I want to? That irritated me off the bat. The other issue that soured the evening was the owner/manager. After my friend had finished her coffee, we were chit chatting and had paid the bill. The owner started hovering near our table, and then at one point was at the next table over, which had recently left, and was fussing over the napkins and said (loudly enough for us to hear), "I really need this table, I really need this table." We weren't sure if that comment was directed at us or not, but were uncomfortable at that point and left. If it was directed towArds us, there are much nicer ways to go about it - maybe asking us if we needed anything else, etc. The restaurant was jammed in the bar when we left, so he probably did need the table, but I think there could be some Lessons in tact given to the owner.

The " new to the neighborhood" restaurant is terrific. I've been there 4 times already and enjoyed the lively bar as well as dinner in the dining room. They hired experienced bartenders that are very attentive. The food at the bar was served in a Tim ely manner and was very fresh. Try the calamari and the pizza!! The service in the dining room was a bit slower but the food was very good. All of us enjoyed our entrees and would return again! Definitely a step up from the previous restaurant in this location!!

Been going here over the past three owners and decided to check it again after reading that the previous owner had repurchased it and did a renovation. Thought it odd when we entered and the man behind the greeting station kept his head in paperwork. Later found out he was the owner. This was found out when midway in our meal he came to the bar and asked the bartender to see if he had a type of sherry. We learned the tender was only on the job one week and was involved in trying to ring out a customer's bill. A few minutes later the manager returned with the owner and asked if he had found it. The bartender announced he was busy but started looking in the wine area before the manager barked for him to look in the refrigerator and promptly steered him to where the sherry was. This whole incident seemed like a test to see if a one-week old employee knew where sherry was maintained. It also appeared like they were trying to embarrass him who, by the way provided excellent service to my wife and I. Also, the rigatoni with self described "Sunday gravy" was anything but. The chef needs to spend a few days in South Philly to learn about gravy. Anyway, although the atmosphere was good and service excellent, an owner who treats customers and staff like this is not worthy of my business. I would ask the owner to refute any of these comments.

Why no tablecloths??? This may seem like a stupid issue to some of you, but it indicates that Teca is trying to be too many things to too many people. We saw the menu, saw the prices and figured we should not go in jeans and flannel. Well, sitting at a bare table through three courses is messy, AND THE MESS WASN'T OURS! Wet plates coming out of kitchen, etc etc. By the end of the evening, it looked like a table in a nursing home after a meal. It was gross and my sleeves got dirty. It's not like they can come by with a wet rag and wipe it off, either. That's strictly for bars and diners. And even diners give you a paper placemat. So are they trying to do the casual pizza joint vibe (because they DO serve wood oven pizza here)? it costs too much for that. Small plates and a drink? I suppose you could do that at Teca, but no one around us was doing anything but full out dinner. Valet parking, a coat check, cloth napkins, a 150 check before tip (no cocktails, pre-partied at home) and nothing under the plates? WTF! The food is good. Not perfect. The agnolotti were undercooked. And don't give me that al dente crap! It was homemade pasta, and the center of the dough was still raw. Filling beautiful and subtle, spinach in sauce too strong a flavor for the mildness of the pasta and the filling. Meat courses spot on. Why screw with burrata? Think you're gonna make it MORE perfect? Lovely waiter. Other than no tablecloth, nice tabletop. Steak knives retail for 17 apiece. Cramped space, waitstaff bang into your chair a lot. Noise level, astronomical!!! (Tablecloths would help with that.) Bar looks like fun. Don't bother dressing up. Lots of slobs in jeans, flannel, fleece, baseball caps.

This place is a disaster. My girlfriend and I saw it last week so decided to go. I ordered the table side branzino. They brought the meal out and the server sent it back saying it wasn't the right dish. Two minutes later they sent it back to me. The manager came out saying how great Black Sea bass was. Obviously not what I ordered. He proceeded to yell at us and tell us we didn't know what we were talking about. What if I was allergic. And what restaurant tries to serve you the wrong meal twice?? My date then went in the back and spoke to the owner who is also the chef. He proceeded to tell us we were crazy. At this point she is fevered. He gets in her face yelling aggression is met with aggression. Are you fing serious? I felt like we were in a military mess hall. The only thing consistent is the terrible treatment and the mess that this place is. They deserve to go out of business. These owners are a total joke. Apparently the customer is always wrong.

Ate there for Christmas Eve, and although it's a busy night, the service was extremely disappointing for a fancy restaurant. Just as you expect for a place like this, you get a small portion for a high price. My biggest issue was we were there for three hours and service was extremely slow. They only had two guys working about 5 large tables, and it took us two hours to get our food, which was a small portion. There were about five managers cycling in and out and they got absolutely nothing done. Some complaints from others were there were no baby seats and tables were getting food quicker than others. The food wasn't even that good, it was mediocre. For $27, I got two small pieces of veal piccata, with nothing else except the bread. The taste didn't stand out at all above any other restaurant. I would never eat here again

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
